Dancer in the Dark filminde, t&#252;m dans g&#246;sterileri, &lt;b&gt;Selma&lt;/b&gt;'n&#305;n zihninde canland&#305;rd&#305;klar&#305;ndan olu&#351;uyordu, ki bu filmde  b&#246;yle bir durumun olu&#351;mas&#305; daha mant&#305;kl&#305;yd&#305;, &#231;&#252;nk&#252; &lt;b&gt;Selma&lt;/b&gt; k&#246;rd&#252;. Dolay&#305;s&#305;yla hayalleri, onun g&#246;zleriydi. Hatta Chicago filminde, bu fikri almakla kalmay&#305;p, daha da ileri gitmi&#351;ler ve Dancer in the Dark'tan bu fikre ba&#287;l&#305; olarak, ba&#351;ka bir fikri de alm&#305;&#351;lar. Dancer in the Dark filminde, &lt;b&gt;Selma&lt;/b&gt;'n&#305;n duyduklar&#305; da, hayal kurmas&#305;na sebep oluyordu. Y&#252;r&#252;yen insanlar&#305;n &#231;&#305;kard&#305;&#287;&#305; ayak sesleri, fabrikada &#231;al&#305;&#351;an makinelerin sesleri, resim &#231;izerken kalemin &#231;&#305;kard&#305;&#287;&#305; ses ve daha onlarcas&#305;. Bu sesler, filmde ritme d&#246;n&#252;&#351;&#252;yor ve bu ritm &#252;zerine kurulu m&#252;zik ba&#351;l&#305;yordu. Filmdeki m&#252;ziklerin tamam&#305;na yak&#305;n&#305;, do&#287;ada duydu&#287;umuz seslerin ritme d&#246;n&#252;&#351;erek m&#252;zik olu&#351;turmas&#305; temeline dayanm&#305;&#351;. &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt; filminde de buna benzer bir sahne var filmin ba&#351;&#305;nda. &lt;b&gt;Roxie&lt;/b&gt;, h&#252;cresinde yatarken &#246;nce &#231;e&#351;meden damlayan suyun sesi, ard&#305;ndan &#252;st katta y&#252;r&#252;yen bir adam&#305;n ayak sesi, sonra di&#287;er h&#252;crelerdekilerin &#231;&#305;kard&#305;&#287;&#305; sesler birer ritme d&#246;n&#252;&#351;&#252;yor ve m&#252;zik bu ritm &#252;zerine kuruluyordu. &#199;ok &#231;ok ay&#305;plad&#305;m bunu kulland&#305;klar&#305; i&#231;in, &#231;&#252;nk&#252; bu film, &lt;b&gt;Dancer in the Dark&lt;/b&gt;'tan daha pop&#252;ler bir film ve pek &#231;ok insan, bu fikrin, ilk kez bu filmde uyguland&#305;&#287;&#305;n&#305; sanm&#305;&#351;t&#305;r. Halbuki bu b&#246;yle olmad&#305;. 1970'lerde, &lt;b&gt;Pink Floyd&lt;/b&gt;'ta &lt;b&gt;Money&lt;/b&gt; &#351;ark&#305;s&#305;nda bu fikri kullanm&#305;&#351;t&#305; bildi&#287;iniz &#252;zere.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;Varan 3.&lt;/b&gt; &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt; filmi yay&#305;nland&#305;&#287;&#305;nda, hemen &lt;b&gt;Moulin Rouge&lt;/b&gt; ile k&#305;yaslamas&#305; yap&#305;lm&#305;&#351;t&#305;, hat&#305;rlars&#305;n&#305;z. Amerika Birle&#351;ik Devletleri sinema tarihinde &#246;nemli bir yer tutan m&#252;zikallerin, onca y&#305;l sonra yeniden hortlamas&#305;, do&#287;al olarak ilgiyi de &#252;zerine &#231;ekti. Fikrimi soracak olursan&#305;z &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt; filmi g&#252;zel bir film, ama &lt;b&gt;Moulin Rouge&lt;/b&gt; ile boy &#246;l&#231;&#252;&#351;emeyecek bir film. Kabul ediyorum, &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt;'daki danslar, sahne planlamas&#305;, &#231;ok ba&#351;ar&#305;l&#305;, ama &lt;b&gt;Moulin Rouge&lt;/b&gt;'un sonunda, k&#305;sa s&#252;reli&#287;ine izledi&#287;imiz dans sahnesi bile, &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt;'dakilerden daha iyiydi. Benim i&#231;in olumlu, ama san&#305;r&#305;m sinema ele&#351;tirmenleri i&#231;in olumsuz bir durum var. &lt;b&gt;Moulin Rouge&lt;/b&gt;'da, film m&#252;zikleri, g&#252;n&#252;m&#252;z m&#252;ziklerinin yeniden uyarlamas&#305;ndan olu&#351;uyor. Ama &lt;b&gt;Chicago&lt;/b&gt;'daki m&#252;zikler, film i&#231;in yaz&#305;lm&#305;&#351; m&#252;zikler. &#350;imdi, burada bir tercih s&#246;z konusu: Hangisi daha sanatsal olmu&#351; oluyor?
