G&#252;n&#252;m&#252;zde kullan&#305;lan en verimli yapay &#305;&#351;&#305;k kayna&#287;&#305; olan LED&#8217;ler olduk&#231;a k&#252;&#231;&#252;k bir enerjiyle &#231;al&#305;&#351;&#305;yor ve ald&#305;&#287;&#305; enerjinin t&#252;m&#252;n&#252; &#305;&#351;&#305;k kayna&#287;&#305;na d&#246;n&#252;&#351;t&#252;rerek bu sayede &#305;s&#305; yaym&#305;yor. Peki nedir bu LED?
LED: &lt;a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-emitting_diode"&gt;Light Emitting Diode&lt;/a rel="nofollow"&gt; &#351;eklinde a&#231;&#305;l&#305;ma sahiptir.
&#304;lk kez 1962 y&#305;l&#305;nda Amerikal&#305; &lt;a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Holonyak"&gt;Nick Holonyak&lt;/a rel="nofollow"&gt; taraf&#305;ndan bulunan ve teknik olarak &#305;&#351;&#305;k yayan yar&#305; iletken(&lt;a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.cavusogullari.net/bilgi/elektr/#diyot"&gt;P ve N tipi&lt;/a rel="nofollow"&gt;) diyotlara LED denir. LED'in &#305;&#351;&#305;k yaymas&#305;ndaki prensip elektronlar&#305;n diyot &#252;zerinden ge&#231;erken enerji kayb&#305;n&#305;n &#305;&#351;&#305;k enerjisi olarak yans&#305;mas&#305;d&#305;r.
&#304;lk ba&#351;larda k&#305;rm&#305;z&#305; renk yayan LED mevcutken daha sonra sar&#305; ve ye&#351;il LED'ler g&#252;ndeme geldi. 1993 y&#305;l&#305;nda Japon &lt;a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuji_Nakamura"&gt;Shuji Nakamura&lt;/a rel="nofollow"&gt;, galyum nitr&#252;r&#252;n&#252; kullanarak mavi LED'i elde etti. Bu mavi LED beyaz &#305;&#351;&#305;&#287;&#305;n &#246;n&#252;n&#252; a&#231;m&#305;&#351; oldu. Son olarak &lt;a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.sabah.com.tr/haber,69AEB33896B14F088C54BA717CB536FD.html"&gt;Bilkent &#220;niversitesinden ara&#351;t&#305;rmac&#305;lar&#305;n, geli&#351;tirdikleri ''ayarlanabilir beyaz &#305;&#351;&#305;k'' teknolojisiyle&lt;/a rel="nofollow"&gt; geli&#351;me kaydedildi. Geli&#351;melere ra&#287;men hen&#252;z LED'ler floresan lambalarla ayd&#305;nlatma g&#252;c&#252; bak&#305;m&#305;ndan yar&#305;&#351;am&#305;yor. Fakat bu sorunun da birka&#231; y&#305;la kadar &#252;stesinden gelinece&#287;i d&#252;&#351;&#252;n&#252;l&#252;yor.
